Crossfit Level 1

BS in Health Ecology from the University of Nevada, Reno.

I pursued my passion for fitness and health and graduated from The University of Nevada, Reno in 2008with a degree in Health Ecology.

I have been a personal trainer since 2006, spent 2 semesters working for a physical therapist, and I have taught a variety of fitness classes over the years.

I first heard about Crossfit from my boyfriend (now husband) around 2007 when he strung up homemade rings from an old elm tree and said “I’m doing this thing called Crossfit!” I didn’t really catch the Crossfit bug until almost 5 years later in 2012 after having two kids and in search of a new fitness outlet. For me, Crossfit is everything I love about Fitness rolled into one.

It’s competitive, it’s fun, it’s functional, and the community is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.
In June 2015 my 5 year old daughter asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said, “Well I want to be your mom” to which she replied that I needed a real job like a police officer, a doctor, or a garbage man! This conversation really hit me, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it.

I went through so many career ideas, but my heart just kept telling me do what I love, and that is Crossfit! So I got my level 1 in August 2015 and here I am… The feeling I get coaching a class and helping others reach their goals is Just as exciting as hitting a PR! The members motivate me to be a better athlete and coach, and I hope to inspire others the good old fashion way, through hard work, and being humble in a community of so many amazing people.
