As part of our celebration of being open 10 years, we will be posting an athlete spotlight every day this month! Some of our members have been with us for all 10 years, some less than a year, some have become coaches, others moved away, and some have even opened their own boxes. We are proud of all of them and that we have had a positive impact in their lives.

When were you a member of SCCF? 1/3/2012 – 4/2015
What made you join? A friend of mine in North Carolina was posting these crazy workouts on FB. He had amazing results so I looked up CrossFit in Las Vegas. I found Sincity CrossFit and stalked them for a few months before coming in.
Where do you CrossFit now? CrossFit Westchase in Florida
Single/married/family? Married.
Favorite activity outside of CrossFit? Racing and working on cars.
Favorite workout music? 80s rock
How would you describe your nutrition and has it changed since you started SCCF? The sccf community helped me to clean my diet up by sharing best practices for meal preparation and recipe ideas. Once I cleaned my diet up I saw an immediate change in my fitness.
What is your favorite cheat meal? Baked ziti
Do you you, or did you play any sports? Never played sports. When I started at sincity I couldn’t run 400 meters without stopping. I have done 10ks without stopping now.
How long have you been crossfitting? 7 years
How many times a week do you crossfit? 4-5
What made you join SinCity CrossFit? I came in and did my free trial and saw Billy working out and then he coached my class. I said to myself I want to be able to do that and look like that!
Favorite movement? Squat cleans.
Least favorite movement? Burpees
Favorite workout? Cindy
What do you remember/miss most about your time at SCCF ? During on boarding we were told CrossFit will prepare us for anything. So I asked Billy when would we ever have to do a bar muscle up. His answer “what if you need to pull yourself into a helicopter.” I miss the entire staff of sccf.
Who is your favorite trainer? Billy for his intensity. Bobbie for putting up with my shenanigans.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you? No surprises here. I’m an open book.
How has crossfit improved your life? I went from a couch potato who drank mtn dew and ate Doritos to eating healthy and staying active. I now surround myself with people that are healthy as well.
What or who inspires you the most? Getting a PR on a lift and seeing others do it too.
Biggest achievement since you started/ what you are most proud of? My biggest achievement was dropping over 40lbs after 100 workouts and going from 12 rounds to 20 in Cindy.
What are your fitness goals for the new year? My fitness goals for 2019 is to run a half marathon with my wife.
