WOD – February 18, 2014 – V Day – Wrap Up

What an awesome event we had this weekend at SinCity CrossFit South!  We had 84 athletes competing throughout out the day in 3 workouts to crown the fittest couple in Vegas!  We kept all the workouts on schedule and everyone had a great time!  We can’t wait to do it again next year!I want to start by congratulating the top 3 teams:1st Max Effort Heart On (Matt n Lindsay) – They placed 2nd on wod 1 and they came in 1st on the last two workouts! 2nd – Who’s the Foss? (Kyle n Suzie) – The fittest couple in Vegas right here from SinCity CrossFit!  5th place on wod 2, 2nd on wod 3 by 1 second, and 1st on wod 1.3rd – Gains, Planes, and Automobiles (Craig n Jen) – 11th in wod 1, 2nd in wod 2, and 3rd in wod 3. I also want to give a shout out to all the other teams from SinCity CrossFit as well as South SinCity CrossFit, West SinCity CrossFit, Max Effort, South Vegas CrossFit, CrossFit Apollo, Freestyle CrossFit, Kaizen CrossFit, CrossFit 702, Outcast CrossFit, and CAC CrossFit!  It was great to see so many athletes from all over the Valley get together under one box and throwdown!We apologize for the confusion about the 3rd place team.  We tried to get the scores out as quickly as possible, and in doing so, we didn’t double check the scores.  There was a glitch in the matrix and some scores were initially input incorrectly.  We will learn from this, and make sure it doesn’t happen in future events.  All the correct scores can be viewed here!So much planning and teamwork went into making this happen.  It is impossible for me to thank everyone, but I will try.  First off, I would like to thank Max for coming up with the idea and making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.  You were out there the whole time keeping a close eye on everyone’s movements and keeping everyone focused. Secondly, I would like to thank Bobbie Lee and Sheena for doing all the behind the scene stuff.  Bobbie put together an awesome team of volunteers that made everything easy.  And Sheena put together all the goody bags, checked everyone in, and decorated all kinds of stuff.  They also did so many more things that would take forever to list. All of our other sponsors that contributed to the awesome good bags and prize packages as well, especially:

Last, but definitely not least, I would like to thank all the volunteers!  Without all of you this event wouldn’t be possible.  Big shout out to Andy Gil from the Highway Vibe for keeping the box bumpin from start to finish.  Without a DJ like you we wouldn’t have had such an awesome atmosphere.  All of the judges worked their asses off.  There were some difficult workouts to judge, but all in all you guys did an excellent job!
